Cancer And Cigarettes – Terrifying Facts Everyone Must Know
Please Bookmark: |
Do you know drifting tobacco smoke kills more people than motor accidents, all types of crimes, AID, illegal drugs, etc. In simple words people are more likely to die as a result of drifting tobacco smoke than by a car, shoot-outs, or the virus called AIDS.
Tobacco found in cigarettes can be linked to cancers of the lung and head and neck. More than eighty five percent of the cases of head and neck cancer found can be associated with use of tobacco. Smoking causes mutations in genes, impairs lung function and deteriorates the effectiveness of the immune system.
If a patient while being treated for cancer continues to smoke his response to the treatment that is underway is likely to be poor as compared to a person who has stopped smoking.
A person is likely to get second cancer in the same place or different, if after being treated successfully for cancer once he/she does not stop smoking. This is irrespective of the fact that the patient had cancer that was related to smoking or not.
Some studies have also found that cancer patients who have to undergo less intensive treatment are more likely to continue smoking, and even if they quit it’s for the time being. They are likely to start smoking again after being through with the treatment.
These are some facts we should all keep in mind. Smokers and non smokers both. The moment you come acrossome one trying his/her first cigarrate, discourage it. And since you know the dangers of smoking you will be able to do and save a life.

You can try to discourage someone from having a cigarette, but unless they really care about what you think of their actions, you likely won’t be able to stop them. And, not everyone who tries smoking gets addicted. Many people do quit, and many do it recreationally. Many people try it out of curiosity, don’t like it, and never return to it. Too many factors can account for why people continue, whether the reasons are social, psychological, or physiological. I think most people, at least in the Western world, are aware of the dangers of tobacco, but unfortunately, smoking continues among youth.
