My dad has carcinoid cancer, we found out three years ago when it had almost completly blocked his large intestines. A year after his surgery they had found many different sized tumors around his liver. Fter his second surgery and reading many coping and living with cancer books my family switched our whole diet to organic foods and drinks. He also gets a monthly shot of sandostatin and a year and many scan/tests later and his miniscule tumors still left around his liver are no longer growing.

my husband had carcinoid tumor last year,they say he had it years,they treated him for irritable bowel symptom.they took his small bowel,and lymph node out plus this mass,had to go back for 6 weeks check up they say they got it but some escaped from the wall,so they keep an eye on him for the past year he has had to have cat scans,the first scan showed black on the back of his liver,so had to have another scan 3months later,results showed black on liver was gone.if it had got bigger he would have to have implants under his skin,but Xmas time he was unwell,pains in tummy running to toilet.he has had another scan we go this Thursday to find out his results,i am not sure if he has it again or not as he is putting on a lot of weight,and has hot flushes ,may be i am worry for nothing,lets hope i a worrying for nothing.
Is there any one out there having the same thing having hot flushes and eating all the time?

I have 2 brothers that passed away from carcinoid tunors. I encourage all to get your family members to participate in the carcinoid clincal research at the National institute of health , it will only cost you time ,and as they are finding out this may be hereditary .There are many test run and would be significant to your loved ones to catch this early on as well help to find a cure for this disease.Please feel fre to contact me anytime afsmaxwell@gmail.com

I had a carcinoid removed from my small intestine on Thursday 10/3 and was discharged from the hopsital yeasterday. I have to go see my oncologist next week for the “next steps”. Per my General Surgeon it may involve chemo based on the pathology report, but hopefully this can get resolved. Hope everyone else who is on this medical merry go round is getting well and or at least feelng better. Feel free to pass along any tips.

I was diagnosed with carcinoid cancer of the pancreas in March 2006. The tumor measured 9cm x 8cm. The only treatment I have received from conventional medicine is sandostatin. Based on my own studying on the web and books on cancer I have taken nutritional supplements and I have pretty closely followed the Johanna Budwig flax oil/ cottage cheese diet protocol.

Fifteen months later my tumor has decreased in size almost 60% and is now 5.9cm x 5.2cm.

I have eliminated 95% of all processed foods and refined sugars from my diet. I eat mostly raw vegetables in salads and fruits, very little meat.

I give the Budwig flax oil/ cottage cheese/flax seed protocol much credit for reversing my diseased state. Much information about the Budwig protocol is available on the Web and in books.
