The primary treatment for breast cancer is surgery which removes the cancer. There are three major types of surgery. First one being Breast Conserving Surgery wherein either a lumpectomy or partial mastectomy is done to remove part of the breast that is affected.
The second treatment is Mastectomy where the entire breast is removed. And the third treatment is where the lymph nodes affected with cancer are removed and it is called Axillary Nodes Dissection.

A healthy diet is a precaution against a variety of diseases. And nutritionists say that the diet should include a portion of dietary fiber, especially for women who want to avoid the risk of breast cancer. The theory was that estrogen leads to the development of breast cancer. A low-fat high-fiber diet reduces the production of estrogen while simultaneously increasing the excretion of this hormone by the body. Dietary fiber may also lead to a reduction in the absorption of toxic chemicals and in this manner reduces the risk of breast cancer. Read the rest of this entry »
