Ease the Pain of Ear-Ache

by Sylvia White | Diseases | Thursday, December 21st, 2006

Ear-ache can be extremely painful so any way to help relieve the pain is much appreciated. A doctor may prescribe antibiotics if an infection is diagnosed, otherwise eardrops will be given.

If a doctor is unavailable then there are one or two ways you can help to ease the pain.

Soak a small piece of cotton wool in slightly warmed baby oil or olive oil.

If you have a hot water bottle place a cover over it and make sure it is not too hot, let the patient lie with his ear against it. A pain killer will also help.
