Overweight, fat, obesity, plump, It doesn’t matter how you say it, if you are any of these then it is quite probable that you have tried at least one diet in the bid to shed some of those pounds.   You could spend a fortune on the huge array of pills or potions on offer in the market place. They all give the same promise that the pounds will simply melt away as if a magic wand has been waved over your head.

If you believe in fairies then you are likely to believe the wild promises they give.  You hand over your hard earned money and POOF it is gone, but not the fat that you are so desperately trying to remove.

You may believe they are working as without you realising it you may unconsciously miss out on the odd snack or two in a bid to help them along. At the end of the course you see a loss of four or five pounds and wow you believe you have finally found a wonder drug and your weight problems are over.

More money is handed over to purchase a second month’s course, this time there is no worry over the snacks as your wonder drug will take care of them. What a huge disappointment when the second month’s course comes to an end and there is no difference to your weight, you may even have replaced one or two of those pounds you had lost.

Some tablets or diet potions work as an anti depressant and curb your hunger pangs so you start eating less and they may even make you turn away from foods you normally eat, the weight or fat will of course disappear. Your physician may prescribe these tablets for you but many are against them fearing that you may become addicted to them.

You do need to continue eating a fair proportion of fruit and vegetables, if this is not the case then purchase a good multi vitamin that will replace any lost vitamins from your normal eating habits.

The only true way to diet is not to cut down on your food intake but to adjust it. Cut out the fatty foods like chips, burgers, fatty meats etc and replace them with more veggies and healthy options.   If this proves impossible try oven chips and grill your bacon and burgers etc, you will see by the amount of fat that drips out of them how much less your body is taking in.

You will have heard over and over again that exercise is important to weight loss, if this is something else your mind blanks out then try exercise that will be enjoyable. Turn to music, dance your way through the chores or anything else that needs doing. Spice up your life in any way you can think of. Food is not the be all and end all especially if you can replace it with other more interesting things.

Maybe the television is the problem! You sit watching tele and nibble away at the snacks and goodies. Do you realise that this is a sign of boredom, find something for your hands to do, take up knitting, crotchet, needlepoint, or even do a jigsaw in between, anything that will take your mind off food for a while.

The recommended carrots or celery snacks are not really an option unless you enjoy them so search for some low calorie snacks when you shop that look good and taste good, these are preferable if it is the only way to appease your boredom.

You are the only person in command of your body, you can be advised but unless you are prepared to take that advice or try your best to do something to keep the calories off then you will remain an overweight, fat, obesity, plump, or what ever you want to call yourself person.

Yes it might sound harsh but it is true, so if any one out there has any true and tested ideas that might make it any easier to lose those calories we will welcome any suggestions or ideas.
