Uterine fibroids is a kind of noncancerous disease in uterus. This problem happens during the childbearing years. Uterine fibroids has some other names including fibromyomas, leiomyomas or myomas.
Uterine fibroids have nothing to do with cancer and they never change to a cancerous condition. So those who have this problem should not be worried about cancer.
What are the Uterine Fibroids Symptoms?
The most common uterine fibroids symptoms are:
- Heavy and prolonged menstrual bleeding for more than seven days.
- Painful pelvis and also feeling pressure inside the pelvis.
- Frequent and maybe painful urination and also having problem in emptying the bladder.
- Constipation
- Pain in back and legs
Acute pain is one of the uterine fibroids symptoms and it comes when the uterus becomes bigger than it can be fed by the normal blood stream. After a while fever will also be added to pain.
Based on the location, there are two kinds of uterine fibroids with different symptoms. Submucosal fibroids are those kinds of fibroids that grow toward the inner cavity of uterus. These kinds of fibroids are responsible of long and continuous bleeding and are one of the problems of women who try to get pregnant.
Subserosal fibroids grow to the outside of the uterus and so puts some pressure on the bladder and causes the urinary symptoms. They can also press the rectum and cause constipation and puts some pressure on the spin and causes back pain.
Uterine fibroids symptoms should not be ignored. If you have a long pelvic pain, bleeding, urination problems along with constipation or back pain and also painful and difficult urination and bowel movement, you should see your doctor as soon as possible.
